I can't remember the name of the piece, or the artist. Maybe it wasn't even an artwork. Why must I automatically assume that every strange object is a sculpture, that every public display of unorthodox behavior is an act of performance.

About This Quote

In this quote, the author of this piece seems to be suggesting that there is a lot of hidden art that can be found in almost anything. For example, the sound of a bird singing could be a work of art. In reality, though, it is just a bird singing. In this case, the author is using the word "artwork" as an umbrella term for all manner of artwork that might not be mere sculpture or an act of performance.
